BergamoBrescia Enterprise Culture. Stories of innovation in photography,

Opened last April and highly appreciated by the public, the exhibition BergamoBrescia Enterprise Culture – Stories of Innovation in Photography is extended until Sunday, October 1.

Starting 1 April 2023, at the Museo della fotografia Sestini of Convent of Saint Francis in Bergamo and at the Spazio Fondazione Negri in Brescia, BergamoBrescia Enterprise Culture. Stories of innovation in photography
will open to the public. Two exhibition routes discover innovation and skills that have made these places the protagonists of Italian and European economic history: from the dawn of the 20th century to the excellence of enterprise 4.0. In Bergamo, the exhibition was created upon the invitation and with the support of SIAD Fondazione Sestini. It is curated by Roberta Frigeni, Daniela Pacchiana and Gianluigi Della Valentina of the Museo delle Storie di Bergamo.

The exhibition is divided into six sections: People, Doing, Products, Self-portrayal, Landscapes and Enterprise 4.0. Each one delves into an area that has changed thanks to the innovation of businesses. In the long corridor that welcomes visitors and introduces them to the exhibition spaces, a detailed timeline with striking graphics becomes a tool for travelling through the 20th century. It lets us look at those 100 years through the lens of massive transformations of manufacturing systems: from Fordism to Toyotism, up to enterprise 4.0.

With BergamoBrescia Enterprise Culture. Stories of innovation in photography, the Museo della fotografia Sestini Museum will open a renovated space for temporary exhibitions. Designed by the New Landscapes studio, the installation has made it possible to re-imagine the Convent of Saint Francis in Bergamo as a modern and updated venue for the city’s cultural events, including in this  special year that seals the role of Bergamo and Brescia as the Italian Capital of Culture.

Stories of innovation in photography continue in 
Brescia and, from 14 April at the Fondazione Dalmine, with historical photographs of the industrial landscape and contemporary images by photographer Giovanni Hänninen..
